October 25, 2010 is a Special Non-Working Holiday | Barangay and SK Elections | Proclamation No. 48

In the Proclamation No. 48 of Malacanan Palace, announced that the 25th of October 2010 will be a Special Non-Working Holiday for the entire Philippines. This is in consonance with the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections. This report was announced by the Secretary of Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning, Ricky Carandang last October 7, 2010 at La Consolacion College. BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

PROCLAMATION NO. 48

DECLARING MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010 AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

WHEREAS, the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010;

WHEREAS, it is imperative that the people be given the fullest opportunity to participate in the said elections and exercise their right to vote;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare October 25, 2010, Monday, as a special (non-working) holiday throughout the country.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 6th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Ten.
