Grand Prize Winner for National Geographic Photo Contest 2010 goes to Aaron Lim Boon Teck of Singapore

Aaron Lim Boon Teck of Singapore take home the Grand Prize for being the grand winner in the recently judged National Geographic Photo Contest 2010. According to reports, a $10, 000 dollars will be given to Teck and a trip to National Geographic Society Headquarters at Washington, D.C. for a photography seminar. His photos entitled "Eruption of Gunung Rinjani", featured a photograph of an active Indonesian Volcano. It will be published in National Geographic magazine.

Joel Sartore, one of the judges quoted that the image represented the best craft in photography. "Not only is the light subtle and beautiful, and not only is it a lovely scene, but there's a volcanic eruption going on in the background", he added. Meanwhile, Sadie Quarrier, the Nat Geo magazine senior photo editor said that the combination of different pictures into one give them a powerful, wide and unique view.

Upon Teck's submission, he quoted on his description, "I wanted to share with everyone this experience of seeing many elements going on at a particular point in time."
