Talentadong Pinoy 2011 Grand Winner - Joseph The Artist

Joseph The Artist of Laguna was hailed as TV 5's Talentadong Pinoy 2011 grand winner in the recently concluded grand finals dubbed as "Battle of the Champions". Ynares Center in Antipolo was filled by supporters of the eight hall of famers dreaming to become the 2011's ultimate talentado. Aside from announcing the grand champion, Rosanna Roces, Valeen Montenegro, Regine Tolentino and Ciara Sotto also competed for the show's "Celebrity Edition". Ciara Sotto's pole dancing declared her as the most talented celebrity.


Among the contenders who vied for the ultimate title are:

Joseph The Artist, the Talentadong Pinoy 2011 grand champion received 1 million pesos in cash, 4 year college scholarship grant, brand new Chevrolet  and possibilities of representing the country in the World Championship of Performing Arts.

Meanwhile, all of the finalists were given a transferable 4-year scholarship grant.

The talent show was hosted by Ryan Agoncillo and judged by renowned actors, actresses, directors, comedians and singers from TV 5 and GMA 7. Talent scouts include Richard and Lucy Torres Gomez, mother and daughter Annabelle and Ruffa, Joey De Leon, Tuesday Vargas, Audie Gemora, Alice Dixson and the Asia's Nightingale, Lani Misalucha.

New TV soap opera of Richard Gomez and Ruffa Gutierrez dubbed as "Nagbabagang Bulaklak" was also featured in the grand finals. It will be aired on March 21, 2011.

Philippine Provinces to be affected by Tsunami after Japan 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) warned the Philippine public, most especially those near the shores to evacuate earlier because of the possible waves brought about by the 8.9 earthquake happened in Japan earlier today. The agency also released the names of the provinces to be possibly affected by tsunami.

As reported, a 1 meter high is expected to hit the shores of 19 provinces facing the Pacific ocean at about 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Among the provinces that will be affected by tsunami are the following:

• Batanes Islands
• Cagayan
• Ilocos Norte
• Isabela
• Quezon
• Aurora
• Camarines Norte
• Camarines Sur
• Albay
• Catanduanes
• Sorsogon
• Northern Samar
• Eastern Samar
• Leyte
• Northern Leyte
• Surigao del Norte
• Surigao del Sur
• Davao Oriental
• Davao del Sur

Different local offices were alerted for the damages it will bring. The Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Bureau of Fire Protection and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) are working hand in hand to ensure that proper evacuations will be mobilized to all affected residents of the provinces mentioned.

Is Mara really dead in Mara Clara?

Due to being over-hooked with the story of Mara Clara, many of its fans raised several speculations on the status of Mara's (Kathryn Bernardo) character. According to rumors, the death of Mara in the top rating soap opera was due to a big project intended for her in the same network.

However, fans from Facebook, Twitter and even in some blogging sites are getting affected, excited and continuously expressing their predictions on what might be happening next in the much awaited TV series. Here are some of their comments:

No one knows what will exactly happen, except for its cast and director. This was one Mara Clara's biggest twist, a twist that will sustain its TV ratings at its peak.

Mara Clara Crying Child Video goes Viral in the Internet - on its way to Million Views

Mara Clara, the current soap opera of ABS-CBN had proven its charisma to all walks of viewers nationwide. From the month it was premiered up to now, it continuously gaining its popularity in Philippine television.

Last Wednesday, a much anticipated series was aired and tuned by its TV fans. Eventually, Mara (which was portrayed by Kathryn Bernardo) died for an explosion leading most of the viewers to tears. One of the viewers who were greatly affected by the Mara's death was a child. Her 3 minutes crying video taken by her sister went viral on the internet. She was heavily affected by the scene as she taught that what happened was real.


As written in the video description, her sister said, "She cried coz she thought that mara died :| HAHAHAHA superrr nakakatawa!!! LOL. I explained to my sister na hindi namatay si mara. Love is in the air, as the 24 year old ABS-CBN actress, Roxanne Guinoo officially tied a knot with Elton Yap, a businessman at Santuaryo de San Antonio Church in Makati City on January 24, 2010. Pictures kept coming as witnesses and their friends continue to upload the captured moments and video of the ceremonies.

Among the celebrities who attended the Elton-Roxanne wedding vows are Boy Abunda, Toni Gonzaga and Charlene Gonzales of The Buzz, Gretchen Fullido of TV Patrol, Jomari Yllana, Ara Mina, Angelica Panganiban and Mariel Rodriguez. Some sources said that the principal sponsors are Vicky Belo, a popular celebrity surgeon, the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and Boy Abunda.

Roxanne was wearing an elegant long white gown designed by Pepsi Herrera while Elton was in a black suit and tie.

According to tweets of Tim Yap, cousin of the groom, who also happened to be the wedding reception host, the reception list was full of celebrities but only few of them came.

Danica Magpantay - Ford Supermodel of the World 2011 Winner (Pictures)

Another prominent Filipina once again raised the flag of Philippine supermodels after she was declared as Ford's Supermodel of the World 2011. Danica Magpantay, 17 years of age and a Fine Arts student from University of the Philippines came from the roots of Lala Flores, a popular supermodel in 90's. Danica bagged the title of the world's largest and and prestigious international modeling competition  held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at New York City, USA.

Danica took home a total of 250, 000 US dollars equivalent to 11 million in Philippine peso and a modeling contract with Ford. According to reports, the event was participated by more than 50 models from different countries in the world.


Magpantay beat models from Lithuana, Brazil and Poland, countries that are known for popular supermodels.

In behalf of all Filipinos around the world, congratulations and more powers Danica!

Vanness Wu in I love you so (Autumn's Concerto)

The Taiwanese-American F4 member, Vanness Wu, will be backed in the Philippine TV screens for the airing of I love you so (Autumns Concerto) Tagalog version. The soap was first aired in Taiwan Television from October 2009 to February 2010 and significantly got the second highest rating in Taiwan, next to the soap entitled "Fated to love you". Autumn's Concerto was originally directed by Chen Hui Ling.

News reports said that Vanness will portray the character of Stanley, an arrogant law student who will fall in love with Michelle (Ady An), a girl who sells bento in the canteen. The challenge in their love story came when Stanley realized that he has brain tumor, forgets everything and lost his memory.

Just to keep you indulge with the newest Taiwanese show, just watch it in ABS-CBN everyday before Sabel. I love you so will premiere on Monday, January 24, 2011.

Vice Ganda and Paolo Hubalde love affair in Showtime

Without any hesitations, Vice Ganda of Showtime admitted his love interest to Paolo Hubalde, the newest judge of the noontime show this 2010.

In the previous episode of Showtime, Vice Ganda said:

"Oo, ikamamatay ko talaga. Sabi ko nga kapag natanggal si Paulo pupunta na ako sa Tibet, magpapakalayo-layo na ako"

Translation:

Yes, I will die for him. As what I have said, I will go to Tibet and go far away if he was eliminated as judge.

Cristine Reyes says sorry to Sarah Geronimo on her Twitter account

Cristine Reyes started the war -- throwing spicy remarks to Sarah Geronimo last week in Twitter, and now, Cristine is ending the war as she sought apology to the "Pop Princess" also in the same channel - in her twitter's PilyangSweet. Cristine feels sorry for what she did. She said:

"Sa mga nasaktan, sa mga nadamay na Tao pasensiya na po,Naging emotional & impulsive po ako.sana maunawaan niyo po.Maging peaceful na sana ang pasko natin lahat.Sana wala na po Mang-gatong at pagdasal niyo na lang po na maayos namin. Kami Lang po ang dapat mag-ayos nito.kami lang po."

Translation:

To all affected personalities, I am seeking your apology, I am just emotional and impulsive, I hope you understand. I am wishing a peaceful Christmas for everyone. I hope that we can settle this issue. We are the only person to settle this. Just us.

The twitter message was posted in her account after Rayver Cruz was interviewed at "The Buzz" -- admitting his relationship with Cristine Reyes.

Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 Grand Winner - Raj (Viveganandam Deveraj) of Singapore

Having a total of 67 kilograms difference in weight, Viveganandam Deveraj of Singapore, nicked as "Raj" won as Biggest Loser Asia's grand winner. Raj took home a total winning prize of 100,000 US dollars. Raj gained a total of 46.53% weight loss in the Asia's challenge after having a serious diet and extreme workouts.

According to Biggestloserasia official website, Raj is a a graduate of business marketing and a 3D modeler in Singapore. He loves playing computer games like Warcraft and other online games. He is a fan of eating specially during his idle times. Just recently, Raj found his happiness in dating websites where he met his girlfriend. Errors of BIR in posting the Top Individual Taxpayers of 2009 - Bandong and Taparan complain

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) seemed to have an error in declaring the Top Individual Taxpayers for 2009. This was after two of the top listed millionaires complained to BIR.

Rosabelle Bandong, a six-years Associate Editor turned to be the second top taxpayer having a tax paid of P57,867,521 where according to her tax returns proof, her paid tax was only P57,000.


Similarly, according to local news reports, Atty. Francis Carlo Taparan, P38,750,002 who landed at No. 4 as the BIR's top taxpayer in 2009 proved that he just paid a total of 38, 000 pesos.
 

BIR admitted that a rounding off errors happened causing wrong names to appear in the list. Meanwhile, they are seeking apology to the affected employees and said that a reshuffling of encoders will be made to ensure reliability and minimize carelessness in entering the data. Bandong and Taparan, upon their complains were already removed in the Top Individual Taxpayers for 2009.

Showtime Season 2 Grand Finals Champion and Winners for 2010 -- ABS-CBN

Showtime Season 2 Grand Finals will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010. Grand Champion and runners-up winners will also be announced on the airing of Showtime tomorrow in ABS-CBN. Aside from fame, the grand winner will also bring home 1 million pesos from the network.

Hosts of Season 2's episode, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jugs and Teddy, Kuya Kim and Vice Ganda are very much excited in Grand Finals event. Quoted from ABS-CBN's interview with Vhong Navarro, he said, "Magagaling ang lahat ng grupo kaya siguradong mainit ang magiging labanan".

85th FAMAS Awards 2010 Winners - Lovi Poe wins Best Actress and Allen Dizon as Best Actor

The prestigious Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), said to be the oldest award giving body in the Philippines declared Lovi Poe as Best Actress for the movie -- "Sagrada Familia" directed by Joel Lamangan and Allen Dizon for Dukot, also directed by Joel Lamangan.

The 85th FAMAS Awards was held at GSIS Theater sa Pasay City on December 13, 2010.  According to local entertainment news sites, majority of the awards were given to the Indie film "Dukot" including the Best Picture, 5 awards for "Ang Panday" and 3 major awards for "Sagrada Familia".

Topping the list for corporate sector was Smart Communications, headed by Manuel V. Pangilinan with 10,196,063,006.65 tax dues.
