Who? .Glen Vella debuted in the Maltese selections for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song "Appreciate". He tried to win the competition another 3 times with no luck. One of these times was part of the group Q in 2009, where they came in 3rd place. Glen came closest to winning in 2010 when he came in second place with his entry "Just A Little More Love".

Though May 2, 2011 is not a holiday and will be a regular working day as declared by the Malacanang Palace, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) launches lots of job fairs in different areas in the Philippines dated Sunday (May 1, 2011).

Chiz Escudero and Pops Fernandez Rumored Love Affair

After the controversial break up of Senator Chiz Escudero with his wife, Christine Flores, Chiz Escudero is now being linked to Pops Fernandez and currently being rumored for their love affairs. Earlier blog reports said that Chiz and Pops were spotted together at Mckinley Road in Makati City.


Pops Fernandez clarified the rumored love affair issues in the press conference of her concert entitled "Pops Fernandez in Fashion". As reported in TV Patrol, Pops was shocked when she heard about the issue because she doesn't even know Chiz in person. As quoted, she said

"I just woke up when I got a text and I just fell off my bed, only because I've never really met him"

Pops was also previously linked to Jojo Ochoa but she then clarified that these circulating issues are also hoax. 

Charice to sing National Anthem in Pacquiao-Mosley Boxing Fight

Philippine’s most popular young singer Charice Pempengco will sing the Philippine National Anthem in the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley showdown at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 7.

It was Pacquiao who handpicked Charice to sing “Lupang Hinirang,” according to the Filipino boxing icon’s advisor, Michael Koncz. This had been done by the boxing during his previous fights in which the singing of the anthem has always been as controversial as the fight itself.

Michael Koncz declared they talked to Charice in Los Angeles regarding the singing of the anthem and as expected, Charice felt grateful for the opportunity. Fact is Charice is already excited to sing before millions of boxing enthusiasts from around the world who are expected to tune in to the much anticipated fight as evidenced by her Twitter post thanking Manny Pacquiao for having chosen her.

In 2009, Charice sang the national anthem in Pacquiao's fight with British boxer Ricky Hatton. Team Pacquiao is also honored having Charice as Pacquiao himself is a fan of the international singing sensation.

May 2, 2011 Holiday or not - in the Philippines?

Citizens from different sectors in education and government are asking if May 2, 2011 (Monday) will be holiday in the Philippines or not. This is after employees expected that the May 1, 2011 holiday (Labor Day) will be transferred to the nearest Monday.

May 2, 2011 is not declared as holiday.

Reports said that the Labor Day will be celebrated on its date, May 1, 2011 (Sunday) which was then supported and clarified by Edwin Lacierda, Presidential spokesman. AJ Perez Burial and Funeral Update and Pictures

Funeral Update: AJ Perez' remains has been laid to Manila Memorial Park earlier today. As reported, the funeral was attended by his fans, relatives, family members and closest friends from in and out of entertainment industry.


At about 9:00 AM before AJ Perez' burial, Fr. Tito Caluag officiated the mass at Christ the King Church. Part of the offertory were the members of Gigger boys such as Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil and Aaron Villaflor. Sam Milby and Gab Valenciano arrived during the mass.

The last viewing for AJ's remains became emotional. Almost everyone fell in line to witness AJ's face for the last moment. Cory Vidanes at Linggit Tan, ABS-CBN executives were also present in the mass.

His remains were sent to his last resting place while the song entitled "In The Arms Of An Angel" is playing.

He might left the world, but his memories will be forever present to his family, friends and fans. May you rest in peace and find your peaceful place beside God our father.

Daniel delos Santos - Recipient of AJ Perez Eye Cornea

A seven year old child is one of the lucky recipients of AJ Perez eye. The late actor's cornea will be transplanted to Daniel delos Santos, a child who is reported to have a corneal ulcer. In an interview with ABS-CBN, Daniel delos Santos expressed how happy he was for the new cornea. He extended his utmost gratitude to the family of AJ Perez and said:


"Salamat po sa nanay ni kuya AJ, dahil sa cornea ni kuya aj, makakakita po ako"

When he was asked about his future dream profession, he said,

"Gusto ko po maging doctor para makatulong ako sa mga may sakit"

The corneal transplant for Daniel delos Santos is scheduled on April 26, 2011. Just last week, Lawrence Villanueva, 28 years old also had his corneal transplant. He received one of the corneas of AJ.


AJ Perez passed away in car accident last week in Tarlac. His burial will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Manila Memorial Park.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 announced the top 36 contestants who will be vying for the PGT 2011 season grand title, fame and take home 2 million pesos. Out of hundreds who passed the initial auditions, only 36 of them were chosen to be the Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 semi finalists.

Who?: Blue is a British pop boyband, whose members are Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa. Blue originally formed in 2001.
